MotoGp Update News - No rest for Rossi and Burgess as they eye up Barcelona glory

Victorious in Mugello and at the top of the mountain in MotoGP, Valentino Rossi has little time to admire the view.

Valentino Rossi barely has time to celebrate his seventh consecutive Mugello premier class victory, taken in impressive fashion at his home circuit on Sunday afternoon. The Italian is already turning his attentions to the Gran Premi Cinzano de Catalunya and beyond, with tyres once again a focal point for the current MotoGP World Championship leader.

`Of course it was fantastic to win today, in front of all my fans, friends and family,´ said Rossi after the race. `I'm happy to be at the top of the championship, with the bike and the tyres working well. Honestly after this weekend I think I would like to go to bed for five days but now we have to go straight to Barcelona! We will stay on in Barcelona for one day of testing, with maybe something new from Yamaha and some work with Bridgestone, because things are always moving very quickly.´

Also looking ahead was Rossi´s Crew Chief and long-time collaborator Jeremy Burgess, always one to provide a rational analysis and cut to the crux of the matter. He was understandably delighted with his ally´s latest win, especially as part of the bigger picture.

`It´s a good result. Not just for the win today, but the three successive victories mean that we are strong and looking forward to going to Barcelona next week,´ said the Australian on Sunday afternoon.

`Clearly we've got the bike working well now on all circuits, which was something that we didn't have in the first few races with the adjustment to the new tyres. Our work has really been a case of adapting years of Michelin experience to Bridgestone tyres, which has been the focus this season.´
