SSC Memperkenalkan Green Car Bertitel Supercar

Setelah peluncurannya dua hari lalu, SSC membuat program Green Car dengan performa terbaik. Jerod Shelby, pemilik SSC (Shelby Super Car) mengungkapkan bahwa sebenarnya mobil ini diberikan dengan variasi model sedan dan supercar. Akan tetapi, mobil ini lebih difokuskan pada green supercar yang ramah lingkungan. Pada tes drivenya, mobil yang bertitel supercar ini mampu melesat pada kecepatan yang belum pernah ada pada mobil listrik lainnya.
Keinginan SSC untuk mengembangkan mobil protipe pertama yang aerodinamis ini dinyatakan dengan memperkenalkan Ultimate Aero EV (Electric Vehicle). Rencananya mobil ini akan dipasarkan mulai Februari 2009 hingga akhir tahun. Dengan proses produksi yang cepat, SCC juga diperkirakan akan menyita perhatian dunia dengan kemunculan mobil listrik tercepatnya itu. Bila dibandingkan dengan perusahaan lain yang saat ini banyak memproduksi mobil ramah lingkungan, Aero EV yang satu ini dibuat bebas polusi. Dan salah satu kehebatan para insinyurnya adalah dalam membuat eksterior kendaraan ini tampak eksotis.

Dari segi performa, Ultimate Aero EV membuat sesuatu yang tidak dapat dipercaya. Dalam jangka waktu yang kurang dari enam tahun, mobil ini akan memiliki dua pembangkit tenaga motor listrik yang masing-masing dapat menghasilkan 500 hp. Jadi dengan keluaran tenaga 1000 hp, tampaknya akan sangat mumpuni sekali apabila mobil ramah lingkungan ini disebut sebagai supercar. `For me it has been fantastic. It´s the first time that I´ve been able to win here, and it was an unbelievable race. The crew made some modifications and I was able to take a much better pace. I had a good start, then a great battle with Casey, which was a lot of fun. It´s an important victory –very emotional- and now in the summer break we will relax, because the championship is so long.´

Casey Stoner – Second Placed

`The mistake I made past halfway was mine; I ran a little wide and lost the front on the turn as I tried to get back on track. It was race over after that. I enjoyed a lot of the race, but I felt that some of the passes a bit too much for me. I´ve been racing for a lot of years and have come through a lot of different ranks, and for me just a couple of passes were a little too much. I would have liked to have had a little bit of a cleaner battle, but anyway we are happy with the result. We´re still at the front of the championship and not too far off.´

Chris Vermeulen – Third Placed

`It was difficult starting from the third row, and these guys got away early. I had a bit of a battle with Hayden and Dovizioso for a few laps, and once we got past them then we had more pace than everyone else. These two were too quick for us today. To be back on the podium in the dry proves that Suzuki are improving, and I´m looking forward to Brno now.´

Rossi stops Stoner for first Laguna Seca victory World Championship leader Valentino Rossi put an end to Casey Stoner´s victory run with a win at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix.

Valentino Rossi added Laguna Seca to his list of conquered tracks on the MotoGP calendar in a breathtaking Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, ending Casey Stoner´s run of wins and garnering an important addition to his points tally heading into the summer break.

In contrast to his comments after Saturday´s qualifying session, Rossi needed neither a gun nor a 30-second headstart to stop the man so dominant in practice. Instead he relied on a storming start and his best pace of the weekend to stifle Stoner´s breakaway attempt, presenting himself as the only object between the Australian and a fourth consecutive victory.

A speedy start, some shaky moments and two top caliber riders separated from the rest of the field made for a thrilling race, and the end result of a 33rd victory for Rossi for the factory Yamaha team –equaling his total for previous manufacturer Honda.

The deciding moment of the race came on lap 24, as Stoner and Rossi prepared to enter the home straight. Having battled back-and-forth amongst themselves at every corner, Stoner ran wide onto the gravel. An attempt to dig his left foot in order to push himself back on-track led to a fall for the 22 year-old, although he nonetheless picked the Ducati Desmosedici GP8 back up with a cushion on the timesheet significant enough to allow him to finish second and move up in the overall classification.

2007 Laguna Seca runner-up Chris Vermeulen rounded off the podium, using the same kind of pace that he had demonstrated in practice. Having started from eighth on the grid, a better result in qualifying could have seen the Rizla Suzuki rider at the very least take advantage of Stoner´s late fall. He took his second rostrum in succession in a positive race for the Australian.

Some 34 seconds down on Rossi as they crossed the line for the final time, Andrea Dovizioso and Nicky Hayden were tussling for the honour of fourth place and the highest position for Honda and Michelin. The JiR Team Scot rookie eventually did enough to deny twice Laguna Seca MotoGP racewinner Hayden in the Repsol Honda rider´s home race, concluding a great maiden appearance at the track.

Randy de Puniet repeated his sixth position from 2007, this time onboard the LCR Honda RC212V, whilst Toni Elias, Ben Spies, James Toseland and Shinya Nakano wrapped up the top ten. Wildcard Spies –on pole for the AMA Superbike race running concurrently with the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, had believed that he still had one lap remaining as he fought with the established premier class riders.

A first visit to Laguna Seca did not end well for second Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo, who highsided his M1 on the opening lap. He picked up a fractured third metatarsal in his left big toe, an injury that will not endanger his participation in Brno when the World Championship returns in August.

Rossi now leads the standings by 25 points, whilst Stoner´s latest podium finish moves him up to second. Laguna Seca absentee Dani Pedrosa drops down to third place.

In the aftermath of a first Laguna Seca victory -and some criticism from Casey Stoner of the overtaking moves used to obtain it- both racewinner Valentino Rossi and his Crew Chief Jeremy Burgess were quick to play down any accusations of foul play.

`The overtaking was just like the old days,´ said Rossi after the race, having engaged in a back-and-forth tussle with Stoner up until the Australian came unstuck and suffered a light crash. `I was very strong in braking, and so I tried to attack. I am sorry that Casey thinks some of them were a bit strong but I really don´t agree; I passed only on the brakes, I braked in the same places every time and we never touched. Of course this was an aggressive race, but it was definitely a fair one.´

Rossi´s right hand man Burgess further brushed off the accusation of over-stepping the overtaking mark, stating that: `I think that if Casey had raced in the 80´s and 90´s with Kevin Schwantz, Wayne Rainey and Mick Doohan, then he´d have seen that kind sort of thing every week. It might not have been what he was expecting; probably expected to win the race easily as he had dominated in the practices.´

One particularly tight manoeuvre came at the Corkscrew on lap three, with Rossi nearly coming a cropper on the sharp descent as his tyres hit the gravel. The Fiat Yamaha rider forced Stoner to sit up after coming back onto the track, and acknowledged that he had been let off lightly by the treacherous turn.

`The Corkscrew was a great overtaking spot!´ smirked the World Championship leader. `Sometimes it´s possible to make a mistake there, but the gravel had good grip!´

Rossi´s victory helped him to extend his lead at the top of the World Championship standings to 25 points, with Stoner now the second placed rider in the classification.

Stoner reacts to dramatic race at Laguna Seca

Casey Stoner took second place in the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix on Sunday after an incredible battle with Valentino Rossi and was understandably frustrated having lost the upper hand.

After three races on the top step of the MotoGP podium Casey Stoner had to settle for second at Laguna Seca, after an awesome fight with Valentino Rossi which ended with the Australian crashing and remounting to cross the line thirteen seconds behind the Italian.

Stoner launched from pole position for a fifth successive round and was immediately pursued by Rossi, with the pair swapping positions as they left the rest of the field trailing, appearing to touch on several occasions in some of the best racing seen thus far in 2008.

The stage was set for a Hollywood finale but a rare mistake from the Australian in the final turn, just eight laps from the end, saw him run wide into the dirt and drop his Ducati as the front end dipped into the deep gravel.

A huge gap of more than twenty seconds over third-placed Chris Vermeulen allowed Stoner to return to the race in second place, but there were insufficient laps left for the World Champion to hunt down Rossi, who he now trails by 25 points in the standings.

Afterwards Stoner commented, `A bit more than half way through the race when I made the mistake Valentino seemed to brake a little bit earlier so I had to go around him and I ran off the track, which was my fault. Also with the crash I just tried to come back on the track too quickly but unfortunately I lost the front and it was race over after that.´

Questioning some of Rossi´s tactics Stoner went on to say, `I have been racing for a long time and I have seen a lot of close overtaking passes. I have had them done on me, I´ve done them myself and there is close riding, aggressive riding and then the point that is a little bit over that line.´

`Still we can be happy, we got second place, we are still in the running for the championship and we have had a lot of podiums in a row now.´

Stoner´s boss in the Ducati Marlboro team, Livio Suppo, added, `It was a big battle, a nice battle. It is a bit of a pity because Casey had great pace all weekend and Valentino did well to stop him. Otherwise I think if he would have been able to lead he would have gone off alone, but that is racing. Maybe Valentino sometimes was a little bit over the limit but that can happen.´

Yap, mesin 2JZGTE 3.0L yang masih standar, dipadukan dengan dengan paketan dari HKS berupa head gasket berukuran 1.2mm, camgears dan timing belt. Ini semua akan memberikan pacuan tenaga sebesar 545 hp bagi si Supra turbo. Dan demi performa serta respon terbaik, maka penggunaan T04Z turbo dari HKS pun menjadi pilihan. Serta penambahan dari paket HKS lainnya untuk menunjang performa mesinnya.

Salica Akan Luncurkan GT Supercar Akhir 2008


Salica merupakan salah satu manufaktur mobil sport terkemuka yang sangat terkenal dengan pembangunan body kit dan modifikasi. Perusahaan yang bermarkas di Ingggris ini, kini telah meluncurkan detail mengenai tampilan dari supercar terbarunya yang diberi nama "Salica GT". Mobil yang tersedia dengan format setir kiri dan kanan ini rencananya akan dipasarkan akhir tahun ini.Serta akan dijual dengan format lengkap atau juga dijual dengan part yang terpisah.

Salica GT tersedia dengan dua opsional mesin, yaitu mesin V6 3.5L yang bisa membangun tenaga sebesar 400 hp (298kW) atau versi twin-turbo dari mesin yang sama dengan kemampuan yang lebih tinggi. Mesin tersebut bisa menyemburkan tenaga sebesar 500 hp (373 kW). Versi mesin dengan tenaga yang sangat mumpuni ini juga didukung dengan pengurangan beban dan perangkat rem kelas atas dari AP Racing. Selain itu, adanya sistem rear-wheel-drive yang dikirimkan melalui enam percepatan dari Graziano H dan sinkronisasi dari transaxle gearbox menghasilkan torsi mencapai 560ft/lb (750Nm). Lightning GT luncurkan Sportcar



Pada bulan Juli tanggal 23 ini, kita akan melihat debut Lightning GT dengan mobil sport elektriknya di British Motor Show. Bermodal baterai dari nano-titanate, akan mengeluarkan tenaga sebesar 740 hp dan melesat dari 0-60 mph hanya dalam waktu empat detik. Baterai ini juga memberikan keseimbangan 48/52 pada beban mobil, karena baterai tersebut diletakkan mengelilingi mobil. Yang mana secara teoritis, mampu memberikan handling yang baik.

Baterai tersebut menggunakan tenaga dari empat buah permanent magnet brushless motor pada tiap roda yang kemudian disalurkan ke gearbox dan transmisi. Setiap roda juga memiliki fitur independent traction control dan pengereman regeneratif. Pada bagian dalam, Lightning melengkapi produknya itu dengan mod-cons, termasuk Air Conditioner, sistem navigasi, dan bagian yang dilapisi kulit.

Para pembuat mobil ini menyatakan bahwa untuk berjalan dalam jarak 90 mil hanya membutuhkan waktu sepuluh menit untuk mencharger baterai tersebut. Tingkat ekonomis yang dimiliki mobil ini lima kali lebih baik dibandingkn mobil biasa yang menghabiskan bahan bakar 50 mpg. Apabila melihat spesifikasinya, tentunya mobil garapan Lightning ini memang sengaja dibuat untuk dipasarkan. Tidak hanya sampai disitu, varian modif mobil ini juga sudah tersedia dalam satu paket cutting sticker racing apik. Pemasangan cutting sticker yang melingkupi seluruh body mobil ini bekerja sama dengan rumah modifikasi zeroyouracing. Menilik ke bagian kaki-kaki, Kia New Picanto modif ini ditawarkan dengan velg racing ukuran 14 inchi merk Corsa yang dibalut ban keluaran pabrikan Alpha.
Untuk interior, paket modifikasi hanya meliputi penggantian lapisan jok, penambahan takometer dan beberapa perubahan instalasi audio. Jika mau penambahan yang lebih lengkap, di bagian dashboard dapat ditambah perangkat GPS. Paket modif memang tidak menyentuh ke bagian dapur pacu karena Kia sudah sangat bangga dengan akselerasi mobil ini yang mampu melahap 23 km hanya dengan 1 liter bahan bakar (bensin/pertamax).
