Paket Modifikasi BMW Seri 6 ala HAMMAN

HUMMER H3T 2009 Prototype

At the L.A. Auto Show in 2004, General Motors first introduced the idea of a smaller HUMMER pickup. It was the H3T Concept. The production version of the concept, the 2009 H3T, is scheduled to be on GM's stand at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show in February.

While the '04 concept featured a standard cab with an integrated the bed (similar to original HUMMER H1 variants), the new H3T is a traditional pickup with a separate crew cab and five-foot bed. There is only one cab/box configuration. The H3T rides on a 134.2-inch wheelbase, some 22 inches longer than the standard H3 SUV. The HUMMER truck is also longer than the crew cab iterations of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon mid-size trucks on which the H3s are based. On paper and in person, this is not a small vehicle.

From the B-pillar forward, as you'd expect, the H3 SUV and T are identical. The rear seat of the H3T is standard pickup fare with a three-person bench that folds up to open up floor space for cargo. Behind the cab, the five-foot box incorporates GM's bed-rail accessory mounting system, as well as a removable tailgate.

Powertrains include the standard 3.7-liter in-line five-cylinder that produces 242 horsepower with either a five-speed manual or an old-school four-speed automatic. The Alpha-level 5.3-liter V-8 with 300 horsepower is optional, and given the new truck's weight (our estimate is 4600-4800 pounds), it's going to need all the power it can get. While we hope for a modern six-speed automatic to go with the V-8, it's looking like the heavy-duty four-speed automatic from the existing H3 Alpha is going to be as good as it gets. The Alpha editions will be rated to tow 5900 lb.

Staying true to the HUMMER image, the H3T should prove to be a capable off-roader. Full-time four-wheel drive is standard, as are functional skid plates and 32-inch tires. Taller 33-inch tires and locking differentials are optional.

Pricing will be announced closer to the H3T's on-sale date, which is expected to be late summer/early fall. If GM follows the pricing conventions they've set with the H2 SUV vs. H2 SUT, expect to see prices around $28,000 for a base H3T to $39,000 for the Alpha models.

GM's recent investment of $74 million investment in the Shreveport, Louisiana plant makes producing the new H3T possible. Estimates for yearly production hover around 35,000. The plant also produces the H3 SUV, the Chevrolet Colorado, and the GM Canyon mid-size pickups.

Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe 2009 - Prototype

Geneva brings with it Rolls' new two-door
Image Preview

Think Rolls-Royce, think chauffeur-driven. It's an image the company has been trying to play down for decades; to win over new buyers who will become brand enthusiasts, loving their Roller for its dynamic appeal rather than its rear legroom. The Phantom Coupé - to be unveiled at next month's Geneva Motor Show in production trim - is the model that might finally do just that.

Bosses at the U.K.-based, BMW-owned, firm believe this is the most driver-orientated model in the Phantom range. They're trumpeting its subtle change in character while still playing up RR's traditional strengths of luxury, comfort, design and craftsmanship. They're also confident they've created the world's foremost transcontinental tourer.

Chief designer Ian Cameron explained: "Rolls-Royce has always been about pace, performance and style. For the Coupé we gave the quintessential design a dynamic twist. This adds a sense of drama to the outstanding engineering and drivability that are fundamentals of Rolls-Royce cars."

The two-door four-seater is based on the 101EX concept, first shown at the Geneva expo in 2006. The Coupé is 9.8 inches shorter than the Phantom sedan, but like the other members of the family, it features rear-hinged doors. Crucially, they aid the overall stiffness of the body as they allow for an uninterrupted A-pillar. The result is the most torsionally rigid Rolls-Royce ever. A brushed steel finish to the A-pillar and bonnet, as seen for the first time on earlier 100EX prototype, is also on the Coupé.

Built around a lightweight aluminum chassis, at the heart of the Coupé is the same 6.75-liter V-12 that's in the Phantom. It produces 453 hp, with the 0-60 mph sprint completed in 5.6 seconds. That's the same as the Drophead Coupé - the convertible version of the car - though a 25 percent increase in fuel tank capacity over that model has boosted the driving range.

Cameron added: "With this car we wanted to emphasise the performance potential of the V-12 engine and the effortless experience that it delivers. Whilst never overtly sporty, Rolls-Royce is a brand that has always offered owners a powerful and refined drive combined with, as Sir Henry Royce described it, a bit of fizz."

At the rear a split tail compartment opens in two parts, giving easy access to 13.9 cubic feet of luggage space. The lower tailgate can be moved to create a seating platform for two adults - the so-called "picnic boot."

Production will begin at Rolls' U.K. plant in Goodwood, Surrey in June. Prices have yet to be announced, but the company has confirmed the Coupé will sit between the Phantom at $340,000 and the Phantom Drophead Coupé at $407,000.

Rolls-Royce's chairman and chief executive Ian Robertson said: "This new model represents an important milestone in the company's history. It completes the Phantom family and judging by the customer reaction to 101EX, we are confident of its success. Our challenge lies in meeting the exceptional levels of customer demand for the Phantom range and in preparing Goodwood to meet the needs of future new cars."

Rolls-Royce sold 1,010 cars in 2007, up 25 percent on the year before, and expects similar numbers this year. The factory is currently in the middle of an expansion, to cope with production of the yet-to-be-revealed smaller sedan.
